Bridal Makeup Fixing Single Eyelid Bride on Actual Wedding Day

It's always an issue for Asian single eyelid to get it fixed properly and look awesomely lovable on important occasion especially wedding day. For a makeup artist, mastering how to create double eye lid without doing surgery is necessary especially if we are expose to an Asian Oriental eyes.

In this particular case, her problem isn't only her eyes but is also hair, as she has quite thin & soft hair texture.

Before Makeup 

 The steps:

1. Applying Scott tape. For her case I need to get it layered 2 plies to lift her eye up.
2. Applying Motives eye Primer, to the entire eyelid especially on the surface of  the tape. I found this primer quite useful to apply on basis of silicon/plastic surface, making sure that the colors of the eye shadow kept stays stable and wont be patchy or crease after hours.
3. Starting to draw the eye shadow.

As I had mention in previous page, that this section is to record pictures that I managed to accumulate during my client Clarissa on her special Wedding : Church  & Peranakan Dinner.

Before Makeup early in the morning, She told me that she has lots of break-out due to stress & lack of sleep. (Ahhhhh..... normal story of bride to be...). Apologize for the half teasing hair. During this photo taking, I had done with shaping & drawing her eyebrow

In the church

This is the Wedding Dinner. Clarissa wearing Peranakan Kebaya. I have to make the makeup slightly intense as Peranakan style usually using vibrant color.

Clarissa choose to use fresh flower as her hair accessories, for her dinner I arrange yellow orchid to incorporate with her Red Kebaya.

Bridal Trial Makeup For Her Church & Peranakan Wedding Dinner

Spoken with her through the phone, I knew from the beginnings, Clarissa wanted her makeup & hairstyle to be very simple. That's what I have the impression during her trial day. Kate Middleton bridal day style is her inspiration, which is quite simple makeup with simple half bun hairstyle, not too much & never be over do.

Clarissa has short hair and quite blunt cutting. In order to create the style that she wanted, I used   www.glamtimehair.com extension to create a proper length. The extension made from Remy hair which is real human which go through ceratin process in order to make it not easily tangle & aesy to maintain.

Moods Hair Product Campaign at Bugis Junction

Throwback in January 2014

It's been long time, that I should post this work of mine sometimes in January 2014.

The purpose of this event is to introduce a new styling product in the market name : Moods. The product itself , if I am not wrong was made in Japan or Korea ( apologize for some mistake, since it has been some time I didn' do the record).

Product that I supposed to introduce are : Styling Foam, Hair Setting Spray, the Hair Shampoo, and it's conditioner, and also Hair Shine Serum.

I would say the product is quite okay for customer daily use. It's pretty light and too heavy especially being use in daily basis.

I did simple some casual hairstyling using Moods Product to try on costumer's hair. I have to admit that the product did help in my styling. The foam especially was keeping the hair easier to style, this was usually applicable for extremely smooth hair. Furthermore in for this event, I had showcased mostly braided hairstyling. The foam would assist a lot in giving texture to the hair.

Talking about the hairspray. As I had mentioned above that, it did help even though the holding power isn't expected as strong as it usually a professional product.

Waterfall braided it looks more exceptionally nice in highlight hair.

Pre-Wedding Makeup and Hair styling

Another sample of featuring perfect eye makeup for oriental eyes. It's capture clearly in this makeup done for a prenuptial photoshoot.

The bride has unique oriental eyes which is very adorable but to some Asian ladies, the expectation of bigger more pop up eyes are crucial especially on a big wedding day. 

Contouring the eye without showing up harsh dark color, instead blending the mixture of natural color, combining with the skin tone of the bride, making her look very natural, but still boosting her beauty. The right application of eyelashes and choosing the right eyelashes for each individual eye is taking important part for creating adorable queen of the wedding day look. 

In other word, caring about the detail, is the key workmanship. Including making the skin of the bride look flawless by applying correct texture of foundation for the Actual Day Wedding.

Pre-wedding Makeup for Esther Bride

It's collaboration with gown boutique supplier. Esther, the bride is wearing Rhinestone barbie style ball gown. Thanks to Amour Bridal. the shop is located at Orchard plaza, and it has variety of good quality gown.

Photographed by Jeri Soh, the pictures turn up to be romantic dreamy victorian, totally suit with the theme that was expected to create lovey dovey love story of the loving couple.


Signature eye makeup by Lili Helmy MakeupSpecialist on Esther eye, combining the perfect natural eye makeup with the right application of eye lashes, using extremely light weight eyelashes which has special band/thread. With correct application it can open up the asian eyes, making it look more loveable, bigger and define.

BRIDAL SIDE BUN FOR THINNING HAIR

Looking the best ever is all bride's dream of her wedding day. But sometimes the hair amount is a serious problem for a bride to be.

As makeup artist & hairstylist, to give her glamorous & elegant look, the most important thing is to create volume as much as possible.  I used back comb technic, and crimped iron for her side hair, then create soft curls and pin it up using normal bobi pin.

Total time needed to complete this hairstyle : 30min.
Hair length : Slightly a little longer than shoulder.
Without hair stuffing ; Nor hair extension.
