Make up For Wedding Solemnization

When a time a bride enter the world of commitment as partner in love, never the less she wants to look awesome, at the same time she wants to show the world who is. Solemnization or ROM in Singapore is crucial because at the day a man is willing to tie a not with her.
Unlike the Actual day wedding, the makeup usually pretty much more simple, but still need to showcase the beauty of the most beautiful lady that a gentleman choose to commit for better of worse for his entire life.

When Sylvie approach me to be her makeup artist for her Solemnization day, I know that she take the ceremony seriously. The couple choose the SEA Ocean Dome as the venue. Understanding clearly that the location is dark, I have to prepare that her makeup shall be intense to be able to bring up her look feature in that certain condition.

The make over - in the morning. She has single eyelid which she had mention to me  beforehand , she need the eyelid to be corrected.

After  a little adjustment, her single eyelid eyes now has double line. This way of proper placement of tape correction will also giving a power to  lift up and open her eyes up, both side, at the inner part & at the outer part.

Now, the drawing & painting part.

Drawing :
Make sure the tape is invisible, cutting the tape exactly to the size that is required, it definitely needs skills.
Drawing the eye makeup , applying enough depth to disguise the tape.
Drawing the eyeliner to seal and at the same time giving a definition to the eyes.

Painting:
Contouring skills is crucial, very few of us born with the perfect shape & feature of face, that's the reason why painting of the base to create flawless complexion is the key part of overall makeup.

Technic to place the Eyelashes.

Many clients are asking what is the different between, bridal eyelashes and normal dinner eyelashes. They are not only different in terms of "comfort", but also different in "shape" and "application". Unlike dinner eyelashes which can be pretty dramatic & fashion in style, bridal eyelashes has to carry a power to pop the eyes up, to make the bride look subtle but radiant. That means, proper placement is key point.

Back again to our topic, Considering the venue has minimal lighting,  the only light that will be used later for her photography is the flash which is extremely powerful to wash her makeup away, that  is the reason the makeup has to be intense enough,  but adequate to make her feature look naturaly beautiful.

Bellow, is the complete look of makeover from the time I haven't touch her face, into the time when she took selfie on herself after the makeup done.

Aha!!! Seeing two different person? They are the same person, just the makeup that do "Magic" without going under the knife. It withstand for at least 8 hours perfectly and can go up to 12 hours to 16 hours without touch up depending on the skin condition.

The following is The Hairdo look.
When it's time to do hair styling, I always check with the bride what kind of hairstyle she wants. Hair styling is like a package cover, it will complete to overlook and giving the overall image of the person's personality.
She wants simple sweet looking hairstyle that will portray her as young energetic sweet woman, intelligent, full of idea & caring person,  just like her real personality. Her natural hair is extremely straight, with strong persistent to heat & chemical process, considering this as a reason, the curl has to be smaller & more intense.

Bellow is photo shoot right after the ceremony at Siloso Beach. Look at closer on the hair, from intense at the beginning to this loose after more than 6 hours. However, the makeup still remain perfect.

Makeup for Gripz Shoe Campaign Behind the Scene

This is another overdue posting too. Perhaps it's very very late posting. The project happen in July or August 2013. Involving a Photographer, as per normal photo shoot, a fashion stylist, and a product company.

Gripz is Singapore itself-product. I have no comment about the shoe because my capacity is a makeup artist hired to do makeup for the Campaign photoshoot.

For sure I can remember the photographer. Thanks to Adrian Tan, the photographer who called me for this job. Modelled by : Louise Arild. And I am very sorry for forgetting the name of the stylist. anyway He is always awsome.We'd worked for few project together.

The for this Campaign is Spring, that's why I played a lot with fresh vibrant color to display thespring mood.

I was using Studio Fixed Foundation by MAC. It proven very stable, especially for in-door photoshoot. Never the less the [hotoshoot last very long, I couldn't remember how long but for sure it is a whole day typical job. And the foundation amazingly very sturdy. This is one of the reason why I like to use studuio fixed in my indoor photoshoot project, it has the stability to stay matte for long hours. The coverage is medium, so it 's not too thick and it remain natural. The contra of this product is that, I don't recommend to use for skin with a lot of blemish & redness as the coverage is just medium, although it claimed to be build-able but I don't think, it can cover prefectly.

Sony Alpha 7 R II Camera Launching 2015

Hi, I am back.

This event happened was only few days ago, I did make up for 5 models for launching new Sony camera, called Alpha 7 R II. Location was Shangrilla Rasa Sentosa. Thanks to my dear friends Kamal who eventually brought me to this project.

There were total 8 models. I did 5 of them. They were divided into 2 posts: Outdoor (in which I did makeup for 3 girls) and indoor (in which I did 2 more makeup). Unfortunately the picture of 2 indoor posted girls were forgoten to take. Thanks to my "always forgetful" about taking picture. Now, I kind of regret it, the aftermath feeling when forgeting about documentation. 

Okay... The story was that We were asked to do touch up and  standby to watch over the make up for those models who posted outdoor. Yes, they were to be posted under the sun. 

Without doubt my foundation "secret" mixture perform well. 👏👏👏

Lying under the shades on the beach, looking at the sea of Sentosa, watching those photographers taking pictures while the models were busy acting. Two of them were asked to blow bubles which I think the purpose was to be captured by that new camera called Alpha7 RII.

Pre-wedding Makeup for Esther Bride

It's collaboration with gown boutique supplier. Esther, the bride is wearing Rhinestone barbie style ball gown. Thanks to Amour Bridal. the shop is located at Orchard plaza, and it has variety of good quality gown.

Photographed by Jeri Soh, the pictures turn up to be romantic dreamy victorian, totally suit with the theme that was expected to create lovey dovey love story of the loving couple.


Signature eye makeup by Lili Helmy MakeupSpecialist on Esther eye, combining the perfect natural eye makeup with the right application of eye lashes, using extremely light weight eyelashes which has special band/thread. With correct application it can open up the asian eyes, making it look more loveable, bigger and define.

Soft Smokey Eyes for Bride's Sister Day Makeup

What is important in creating soft smoky eyes is the eye shadow depth color applied at the very nearest to the eye line, upper lid and on the water line at the lower lid, then create the smudge carefully not higher than the crease area.

Unfortunately for oriental eyes, the crease area sometimes isn't clear, as there are some eyes typical has bulging flesh eye lid. In this case, the highlight effect might be an issue. I will always stick to matte color to create consistent depth, especially dealing with day makeup where most of the time natural light is more into the exposure throughout the day.

My anonymous subject come with permanent eye lashes extension. It is not a problem at all but applying makeup on her eye lid has to be extra careful since her eyes are quite sensitive. She require me to create more visible, double eye-lid using scotch tape.
